LeeMinHo will not play as lead of Playful Kiss

It Started With A Kiss (ISWAK), my most favorite taiwanese drama, is one of MBC's upcoming soaps to air in korea soon. their version is entitled Playful Kiss (the korean adaptation of the Japanese manga Itarazura Na Kiss). there has been several rumors saying that LeeMinHo would probably get the lead role, Naoki Irie (Jiang Zhi Shu in the taiwanese version, portrayed by Joe Cheng). now all those rumors have finally ended... i saw this news in my twitter account tweeted by ALLKPOP...


"Lee Minho’s reps has made it clear today that he will not be taking a role in an upcoming drama titled Playful Kiss. This drama made headlines just yesterday when it was revealed that Kim Hyun Joong might be in it.

Lee Minho’s company said on the 7th, “We don’t know anything about him getting cast in Playful Kiss. It’s true that we had communicated with Playful Kiss awhile ago. But that is all. He has no plans of being in it.”

Lee Minho said himself in a press conference awhile ago that he will not be appearing in the drama. I guess he has something else in mind.

We do wish that the producers, Group Eight can quickly settle on a cast because the rumors are all pretty unsettling and making fans anxious."

i have to admit that i was a little sad.. i was kind of hoping to see minho as naoki/zhishu because i'm so in love with the lead's character in this drama, coz he's just so perfect for the role.. super good looking with the super "angas" factor.. oh well.. i guess it's just not meant to be..

but kim hyun joong to play for the role, isn't a bad idea at all.. but i think they would still need to look for someone who looks more snobbish because that's how the lead should look like.. super snobbish campus heart throb and genius.. for me, hyun joong looks like a super nice guy who won't break a girl's heart.. i think.. i guess we'll have to wait and see how he acts the role if ever he gets it. =)

torn between joe and chun

i know this is a little too late but i'm currently under the spell of wu chun! hahaha

he's been here in the philippines last july and i've been impressed by how he had interacted with his fans.. he seemed so kind and sincere unlike other artists who have nothing in mind but pure business. wu chun is different, aside from being a hunk idol drama actor (which is kind of rare for taiwanese actors.. hehe :D), he even created his own blog... reading his entries further astonished me. he seemed to be very caring towards his fans that some are already suspecting that it's a fake blog, meaning it's not directly him who's writing those articles. well, i actually don't care. i like him and that's all i care for.. haha :)

wonderin' why i suddenly got under his spell after almost half a year has passed from when he visited the philippines? actually, i've liked him a little since then... but now, i'm liking him so much!!! i'm slowly becoming an addict of him.. haha :D this is because i've finally finished watching my dvd copy of the taiwanese drama ROMANTIC PRINCESS. i didn't have the time to watch all of it when it was aired in ABS because of my shift in the office.

the story was quite simple and predictable as most idol drama series are but it was really fun watching. just like the usual cinderella story, the lead girl happened to be the long lost grand daughter of the richest man in taiwan and was found after 17 long years of separation. the grandfather, also known as EMP, being the richest man in taiwan holds the highest position (chairman) in their company consisting of several merged sub-companies. but since he's becoming old, he trained 4 youngsters, one of which will marry his grand daughter and become his successor. the favored successor nan feng jin (played by wu chun) turns out to have different plans for himself. because he didn't want to be the successor, he can't fully express his feelings for emp's grand daughter huangfu shan (played by angela zhang). that's where the story revolved... and for all those 13 episodes i've watched fom cover to cover, i wasn't able to take my eyes off of wu chun! hehehe i'm just so under his spell...

honestly, i think i'm now torn between joe and chun..
chun is stealing me away from joe... hahaha (as if!)
and hey, i just noticed, i have a lot of wu chun pictures in my cellphone lately... hehe :D

Joe Cheng at the SEOUL Drama Awards

Joe Cheng attended the recently held Seoul Drama Awards... this was on October 14, 2008 where he presented an award together with the korean actress Park Chae Rim (Dalja's Spring, All About Eve, Dating Now, etc)... they were presenting the Best Leading Male and Female awards. Joe was greatly welcomed by about 500 South Korean fans and though he didn't use proper pronunciation when he greeted them in korean, a lot were still mesmerized by his charm.. haha (^-^)v

JOE's Pepero Commercial

despite the growing melamine milk scandal, joe cheng still signed the contract and endorsed PEPERO's chocolate sticks manufactured by LOTTE. well, this brave hottie said that the milk powder used in this product has been subjected and cleared from melamine contamination before he agreed signing for the project. wearing a tight white clothing, he turns himself into a cupid and using the long chocolate stick to change into a cupid arrow, easily earned him NT $3,500,000 (whew! that's a lot huh?!).

Joe Cheng endorsing chocolate stick; Taiwan ’s LOTTE has to study a bit more
Zheng Yuan Chang has successfully invaded Korea , after getting a Korean beverage advertisement, lately he’s being picked as to endorse a chocolate stick. But the toxic milk crisis is still going on plus China ’s LOTTE’s teddy bear cookie was being tested by Macau to have Melamine in it. Zheng Yuan Chang is taking on quite a big risk to endorse for this product. Yesterday his manager He An Li gave a hard smile and said: [When I have to release the news of him endorsing this product, everyone keeps asking me whether the cookies contain any milk powder? Is it toxic?]

In order to make everyone feeling more secure, yesterday Taiwan ’s LOTTE manufacturer has released a statement stating that all the products for Taiwan ’s LOTTE have already been tested on 29th of September and the products are free of Melamine. He An Li also said that during the toxic milk crisis and cookies, the manufacturer has took the initiative to contact them (Joe’s management company) and informed them that all the products are undergoing the testing phase. Once the tested result is out, they have also immediately notified them about it, very sincere.

Zheng Yuan Chang said, normally he only drinks black coffee and seldom eats snack so he did not suffer from the toxic milk crisis. This endorsement has left a very deep impression on him because he will turn into a cupid in the advertisement. The story plot in the advertisement is to have him leading a group of young girls to express their love bravely by aiming their arrow of love at the guy that they desire, little does he knows that in the end all the young girls are aiming their arrows at Zheng Yuan Chang, very hilarious.

i have actually seen the video in youtube. it was really funny... but i wish the commercial was a bit longer... i think it only lasted for 20seconds... sigh... i haven't had much glimpse of my joe cheng... hehehehe

though i've been so paranoid and greatly affected by the melamine scandal, i actually wouldn't mind eating this choco stick for JOE CHENG... as the saying goes, "for every rule, there's an exception" and in this case, joe's the exception... haha :P anything for him.. no questions asked... hehehe (^-^)v

TKA has finally started airing in ABS

the pilot episode of the tagalized version of they kiss again (it started with a kiss 2) has finally begun airing yesterday, july 29, 2008 at about 4:45 pm after the mexican novela "las tontas" in abs-cbn. amazingly, though i've watched the english subbed series a million times already, i still can't help but laugh when i saw the series dubbed in tagalog. finally, michael and jeannie are now speaking in filipino.. hihihi Ü

this series is really funny... just one of the few dramas (out of about 50 or 60 that i've watched) that kept me wanting for more... i just can't get enough of jiang zhishu (michael jiang, the lead guy portrayed by Joe Cheng) coz he's so super kawaii!!!! hihihi Ü

kidding aside, this is really one of my personal favorites. i really loved their story a lot. maybe because i'm usually enticed by romantic comedy dramas with super hard to get i-don't-care-about-you lead guys and super head over hills i-will-do-anything-for-you-martyr lead girls which in the end of course would be the opposite. on this one though it's not totally the opposite, but you'll see that jeannie's (xiang qin) efforts have been reciprocated... that made me so super KILIG! when this was still airing in taiwan, i had no way but to wait weekly for the uploaded episodes online thru overstream.net and i spent several minutes downloading the scenes. i constantly checked everyday for newly uploaded episodes and i had to saty up til noon though i have a shift later at night... i did all those but i never got tired... Ü

if you're looking for a drama where you'll burst out of laughing, ran out of tissues crying and learn a lot of lessons in life, then this is one drama i'd really recommend... it's really worth watching. you won't be disappointed... i wasn't... Ü

i just love arjoe so much! and needless to say, i've been addicted to joe cheng for almost 2years now! that's since ISWAK aired in the philippines... sorry, but i really can't help it... Ü

Love or Bread: Ariel Lin took over Barbie Xu (update)

though i was really shocked when i heard the news before that barbie xu and joe cheng will be doing a drama together... i've actually kind of set my mind and looked forward to how this collaboration would turn out... i was really interested in seeing sanchai and zhishu together... then this news came up all of a sudden. who would have thought that after all that's been said, the role will eventually be portrayed by ariel lin? i really didn't expect that they would still be changing the casts after the announcements have been made.

but this is yet another arjoe collaboration... for the third time.. yey! Ü

Da S Afraid of gaining weight, Ariel Lin took over the role of a poor girl in the village

Noble posture and a high price tag, Da S has finally “Ti Dao Tei Ban” ! ( meet obstacle). The GTV idol drama Love or Bread starring Da S and Joe Cheng replaced the female leading role that cast Da S by Ariel Lin. Da S cited the reason of schedule’s conflict with her movie’s project. Another speculation is that the character of the role she would play in the Love or Bread were way to “Villagers” that needed to only wear blue and white shoes and gain weight. Da S is not allowed herself to downgrade from the proclaimed princess to the character in the drama.

GTV drama will begin shooting in August. It has costumes set up and made the posters. Da S sudden dropout gave GTV headache. It was learned that the reasons for the dropout are the character of “Zhen Shan Mei”, a poor girl who only wears a pair of 20 bucks blue-white shoes and would knee down to count money on the ground. Upon hearing director Lin ask her to gain weight, Da S painfully consider to give up the role.

Ariel Lin is not afraid of being compared

Da S’s concern on the other hand is a challenge for Ariel Lin. GTV said that Ariel Lin was the first choice to be considered for the drama and later was replaced by Da S.

new TKA time slot

at looooooooooooong last!!! after waiting for almost two months... finally... ABS began re-airing the teasers for the much awaited sequel of It Started With A Kiss (ISWAK) : They Kiss Again (TKA). they initially released teasers in May of this year saying that TKA will be aired during saturdays and sundays at 10 am but this did not push thru... i was so excited when i heard that news but i felt equally disappointed when it was postponed.

now, projected air date of the pilot episode is on July 28. however, there's no specific time mentioned as of yet. but since the only drama/series that's about to end in two weeks time is Romantic Princess which airs 4.30 pm daily, this will probably take over this slot... which is better for me actually than airing it in primetime bida since i'm in the graveyard shift, i won't be able to watch it when i'm in the office. but my most preferred time slot is the initial schedule announced before, that is airing on weekends... that would have been much better because i'm always off on weekends... :P

but this is better than nothing... though i've seen the subbed version a million times, i still can't wait to see the tagalized version, because i'm super duper sure that it would be funnier! just two more weeks and i'm gonna see my Joe Cheng as ZhiShu... oh, i mean Michael Jiang...

just take your time, i'll always wait for you.. wink*wink*

why i love JOE CHENG

JOE CHENG a.k.a. Zheng Yuan Chang/Joseph Cheng/Joe Zheng/Xiao Zhong... (if you're cravin' for more info, just check above my blog posts...) I've seen him several times in several taiwanese dramas like The Rose, Summer x Summer, Magic Ring, Nineball, etc.. but he was known more by public due to his hit series with Ariel Lin, It Started With A Kiss (ISWAK) and it's sequel They Kiss Again (TKA).

i've watched several of his dramas for a million times already, but i still can't seem to get enough of him. just keep gettin' crazier and crazier over him each day... actually, i also don't know why... maybe because...

Barbie Xu and Joe Cheng new series - "Love or Bread"

I was really shocked when i saw this article... i just never thought they would be paired in a drama/series... i think barbie's too old for joe cheng... hehe :P undeniably though, barbie is really babyface for her age. but since i know their age difference, i couldn't set the thought aside, sorry...

no offense meant to barbie fans... not that i don't like her. i actually am also a big fan of sancai in meteor garden, but i just don't think joe cheng would be a match for her... i just find it weird. but it's a good idea to pair joe with other taiwanese actresses, for a change at least and make room for growth... Ü

Zai Zai (Vic Zhou) and Joe Cheng's fate keep crossing because Honey & Clover and Wish To See You Again are rivals on TV. And now Barbie will be acting with Joe in the new drama. On the first screening of H&C, Joe said at least H&C's ratings will be higher then WTSYA which caused an uproar. But it turned out to be true. However, compared to Fated to Love You, the difference between them was quite big.

Joe's role in this new drama will be someone who on the outside he looks rich but actually he's poor and has a huge amount of credit card debts. This is rather similar to ZZ's previous drama Poor Prince Taro. It is said things might be a bit awkward between Barbie and Joe because Barbie used to date ZZ and Joe was a good friend of Xu Wei Lun who had previously dated ZZ. But Joe says he has always been a fan of Barbie even before he debuted. He would buy their CDs and stuff.

Regarding the bed scenes, he had one in TKA and one in H&C so they say he's the "Qing Se Pai Ou Xiang' which is like an idol who has lots of bed scenes.

This drama will be in production on the second half of 2008.

hearing that the sequel of ISWAK has started filming in march 2007 made me really ecstatic... i was so excited to see jiang zhishu again! haha from the news i saw online (i checked from time to time since i heard the news...), filming ended in october 2007. then it aired in taiwan from december 16, 2007 to april 27, 2008... yes, the last episode was just aired 4 weeks ago. i knew before april ended that ABS will be doing this project but i never thought they would be airing it this soon. i thought this would be shown sometime in july or august... but to my big surprise, it will be starting on may 31...

just 3 more days to go...
waaaaahhhh!!! i'm so excited to see joe cheng! Ü

Thank God It's Saturday!!!

once again... it's my OFF at long last!!! :P

like the usual, there was much work to do in the office. the week seemed so long. i guess i'm feeling more tired because i know i won't be getting anything out of it... sadly...

moving on... i actually planned going to metrowalk to shop DVDs after my shift last night, but i decided to postpone it because i had no one to accompany me. the person that was suppose to come with me was on off. besides, i have to catch the last episode of PRINCESS HOURS (rewind) in abscbn... though i've watched it a million times, i still can't afford to miss it, i love janelle and gian so much!!! bloopers will be shown tomorrow, sunday. since the rewind has finished, of course, there's a new drama taking over the air time slot. surprisingly, it's my long awaited/anticipated favorite taiwanese drama ISWAK2: They Kiss Again (TKA). It will be airing saturdays and sundays at 10 a.m. starting may 31, 2008. abs has been showing several teasers of the drama and everytime i see the interstitials, i get super excited that i can barely wait to watch the tagalized version... am so anxious to see michael (zhishu) jiang [JOE CHENG] again... i've actually been dying to see him again... :P

but here comes my dilemma... how am i suppose to schedule my metrowalk thingy? for sure, i will be anticipating each episode every weekend that it would really be very hard for me to schedule outings, trips, hanging out with friends, etc. now i would need to go to metrowalk on a weekday (same goes for all other activities/appointments i'll have), but is that even possible? how will i sleep when i have a shift the next day? and i've just got 2 hours after my shift, i have to be home by 10am sharp on weekends. even malls are not yet open by 6am, where would i go and what can i do in just 2 hours? waaaaaahhhhhh! this is really stressing me!!! what's good though is, i'll surely have a very nice weekend during my OFF coz i'll be seeing JOE CHENG... that alone can somehow compensate all the postponed/delayed/cancelled activities that i won't be able to attend... wehehehehe :P

i got a text message from my friend yesterday that really made me insane... that was the best news i've heard since 2008 began... haha ;p

the most recent drama that has been keeping me crazy for about 4 months now will soon be dubbed in tagalog. she said ABSCBN will be doing the ISWAK 2: They Kiss Again (TKA) project. Well, that's just right because they did the first season, so this is where the drama really belongs... besides, i think it won't be as beautifully dubbed and synched if the other station will be taking over.. hehe ;p she said the pilot dubbing will start on may 6 and she'll be one of the writers... and may be one of the dubbers too... wink*wink*... yes, you heard me right... may be one of the dubbers.

i was actually sad that day... because the drama had ended, the last episode aired in Taiwan on 4/27. after thinking it had 28 episodes in total, it only had 20. now there's no more reason to keep up til noon to watch online streaming of the english subbed version in overstream.net. no more reason to look forward for the next episode coz it's finally finished... no more excitement... no more thrill thinking what's gonna happen next... then the text message came in... it was just in the nick of time, it actually made my day! there was so much happiness and excitement that i can't contain... from super low, i bounced way up high! Ü

the news came straight from my friend Margo who dubbed Vicky Ko a.k.a. Foxy Lady... yes, again, you heard me right, Vicky of Foxy Lady (Ch 7) who's the same voice of Minami Harou in Long Vacation (QTV), Gina in Green Rose (Ch 2), Trixie in Only You (Ch 2), Xiao Yuo in Meteor Garden (Ch 2), Rachel in Marrying a Millionare (Ch 2), etc... she's my korean soul sistah so she's a very truly trusted source. ISWAK addict

From the beginning, It Started With A Kiss (ISWAK) has kept me crazy. Besides liking the lead actor, Joe Cheng very much, xiang qin and zhishu's story has really touched my heart. Maybe because I really like stories where the guy character is super hard to get and cold hearted with an "i-don't-care-about-you" attitude that later becomes "i-can't-live-without-you-can't-you-see?". Another reason that hooked me besides it being a romantic comedy series, is because I think the actors in this drama have chemistry.

I have watched tons of taiwanse and korean dramas... and I can say that is is my all time favorite. I admit that I had been a die hard fan of meteor garden before, i loved daomingsi and sanchai's love story. But after I watched ISWAK, I've almost forgotten them.. hahaha they were completely taken over by Jiang ZhiShu (JOE CHENG) and Yuan XiangQin (ARIEL LIN).

ISWAK, I didn't actually like it at first because I was so annoyed of xiangqin's appearance. She really looked too stupid and dumb. She's very persistent... she really doesn't give up until she achieves her goal. She's too naive and simple minded. On the contrary, she's also a very good friend and a very loving daughter. She has a pure heart and she's really a friend you can rely on... Most of the times though, despite her greatest efforts, everything would still end up in a mess. And this is where zhishu comes in... to fix all the mess XQ made. When I saw the lead guy, zhishu (Joe Cheng), I was in love at first sight just like XQ.. hahaha :P however, it makes me wonder sometimes because he's way too ideal... too perfect that I really doubt if there would be a guy like him in this planet. ZS in the story is a super genius student with an IQ of 200 who's also good in coking, tennis, basketball and swimming. Finding a guy who's good both in academic and sports is really hard, right? Because of his super charming appearance, he's undoubtedly the campus' most famous personality (heart throb). But he's really very cold hearted and sarcastic towards other people.

XQ fell in love at first sight when she first saw ZS who made a speech as a representative of freshmen during their high school opening ceremony. This went on for several years until they became seniors. XQ finally decided to confess her undying love by giving ZS a love letter. But as expected, ZS just ignored her. Then suddenly, an earthquake struck the Yuan's house leaving them homeless. Fortunately, the Jiang's saw the news in tv and decided to take them in. When the Yuans moved in to the Jiang's residence, XQ was really very shocked to see ZS... because she didn't know that her father was very good friends with ZS's mom and dad.

This is where their story started... (wish i was her!!! ♥)

Living under the same roof... XQ's appearance has brought color to ZS's boring and peaceful life. ZS said that since she came, everyday is not like an ordinary day... instead, it's full of surprises all the time... Though most of them would be problems due to XQ's stupidity, because of too much intelligence, ZS would still be able to handle everything in an easy way. They actually complemented each other. In the end, XQ's being naive and simple minded made him realize of his real goal, that is to pursue medicine.

ZS was just cold hearted on the outside... but inside, he really cared a lot for XQ. His actions spoke louder than words. He tried escaping and denying the idea that he loves her several times but he always failed. Everyone knew about this except for XQ (because she's so stupid.. haha :P) In the end, he was caught by his own heart. Hearing that Ahjin (Jiro Wang) was about to propose marriage to XQ made his mind blank for the first time, he didn't know what to do. He ran as fast as he could to every place he knows just to find XQ. And when he found her, finally he confessed his real feelings for XQ, who was in total shock.

After everything that they went thru, they got married and lived happily ever after... ♥

XQ's dream finally came true!!! this only goes to show that this filipino saying is true: "pag may tiyaga, may nilaga" haha :P

Sigh... there were a lot of KILIG scenes in this drama that I would be elaborating in my next post. Hopefully, I would have the time to do that... I really recommend that you watch this drama coz it's worth it. I have my own dvd copy and I've watched it a million times already.. hahaha :P the sequel, They Kiss Again is still airing in Taiwan... but I've heard that it will also be shown soon in the Philippines. YEY!!! :P

just can't get enough

So far, after watching almost 50 taiwanese and korean series in dvd, there are only 2 dramas that kept me wanting for more...

and needless to say,
my favorite taiwanese drama ♥ It Started With A Kiss (ISWAK) 1 and 2 ♥

What's the common factor? I would say besides being both romantic and funny dramas, the lead girls are so devoted and the lead guys are so super hard to get.. ;p super hard to get guys really keep me hooked... it's some kinda magnet that i cannot escape... hehehe ;p

i dunno but i just love seeing a guy who's hard to get in the beginning... lets the girl desperately do everything possible to win his heart... would make fun of the girl most of the time or just not pay attention to everything she does... the girl would then get tired of doing almost everything for the guy and suddenly stops/decides to give up... then the guy would miss everything the girl does for him and he, then turns out to be and realizes he's so head over heals in love with the girl..

yeah... i know i'm just a typical hopeless romantic... poor me... but i really can't help it. it runs in my veins... ;p and i'm not denying coz i'm really hoping someday, i'll have the same kind of story... just like what other girls dream of... to find someone who'll love me as me, whole heartedly... ♥ '_' ♥

why? not that I like her a lot, I actually don't like her that much...

ARIEL LIN a.k.a. Lin Yi Chen is one of the most famous taiwanese actresses nowadays. I saw her first in the taiwanese drama It Started With A Kiss (ISWAK) which was based from the Japanese Manga Itazuranakiss. I actually hated her that time because she looked so stupid and so ugly, that was i think in 2006, when ABS CBN adopted and dubbed the series in tagalog.

But infairness, she does act well. I had no choice but to watch ISWAK because i really liked the lead actor (Joe Cheng) though i was really annoyed to see her face. After that, there were several shows aired in other tv networks with her as the main/lead actress. I also saw Vic Zhou's music video featuring her, that was I think, Make A Wish. Then I realized, maybe she really is something else... or should I say she really is SOMEONE FAMOUS in Taiwan.

Years passed and she's just getting more and more popular. I also noticed that in her other other series, she actually looks fine. Then I thought, maybe it was just really for ISWAK that they made her look so silly and ugly. Well that may have also contributed to the huge success of that drama, coz who would have thought that there will be a sequel after that?!? She also had several series with other actors like mike he (love contract) and wu zun (tokyo juliet); and several commercials and endorsements as well.

Just recently, the sequel of ISWAK: They Kiss Again (TKA), began airing in Taiwan, December 16, 2007. I have been dying to see this since March 2007, that was when I heard that they've began filming the sequel. Her appearance on this one really changed a lot. She became pretty unexpectedly, for me. From a silly plain looking girl, she was transformed to a fine pretty young lady. Joe Cheng changed as well, he was more good looking on this one compared to the first season. His hair was shorter and it really looked good on him! So kawai!!! Ü

This series really showed a lot of kissing scenes and other unexpected scenes, I was always blown away. Definitely better than the first season, this one's so hilarious! :P I was so envious that I almost died watching xiang qin (ariel lin) kissing zhi shu (joe cheng). It wasn't just once, twice or thrice... I actually can no longer count using my 2 hands!!! waaaahhhhh! and this is what freaks me out!!! I am so jealous!!!! she has kissed him so many many many times, who knows how many?

So do I still need to explain why i'd like to exchange places with her?
OMG, she's really one hell of a lucky girl! I really wish I'd be her.... damn!
