today, I attended my new god daughter's christening. her name is jamie denise franco, chiqui's new born daughter. i met etel pips first at sm fairview before going to the church. and just like the usual, our officemates who all came from quezon city, pasig and manila felt like going on an excursion because of the trip they had.. haha well, it's really not that far, i think they're just exaggerating!

Dalja's Spring Addiction

I have just finished watching the KDrama Dalja's Spring which stars Chae Rim and Lee Min Ki yesterday. Well, what can I say? I'm not really fond of may-december love affair types of drama... but this was really something different. Never thought I'd be hooked... but I was! I loved the series so much, I was so addicted!!! I loved the humor and the story itself... now, it has been added to my most wanted KDramas and Lee Min Ki has earned another fan... it's me of course! Ü

This drama is about a 33-year old single since birth never been kissed career woman named Dalja. With time passing her by so quickly, she suddenly felt the pressure of settling down and building her own family. The problem is, she doesn't seem to have luck in finding her mr. right. She bumped into Taebong (Lee Min Ki) one night and hired him as her fake lover (or boyfriend so to say) to seek revenge on her flirtatious and playboy ex-boyfriend.

Dalja, being so naive and ignorant on dating, was tutored by Taebong. He was giving her hints, techniques and all the other things she should know about love. Surprisingly, her "spare tire" boyfriend-by-contract Taebong slowly developed feelings for her. These feelings grew deeper and deeper when they started living together in the same apartment (as Min Ki had no other place to go, he left his apartment because he needed money).

Another thing I liked about the drama is that there were a lot of love quotes or should I say lessons you'll learn... below are some lines/quotes I got from the drama that gave me goosebumps... because they made me super kiliiiiig:

All I know is I love Lee Min Ki!!! I love his character so much! I love this independent guy who looks so tough on the outside but so warm hearted on the inside! I love this guy who's willing to give up his dream for the woman he loves. I love this guy who patiently waits no matter what. He just got the charm that kind of hypnotized me.. haha Ü ...

I give this drama a two-thumbs up! really a must-watch korean drama series! So kiliiiiiiiiiiiig!!!!! Ü

the bus

this is another article i got from the office... this is also nice so read on...

You know, LOVE is just like waiting for a bus. When the bus comes, you look at it and you say to yourself, "Eeeew, so full… cannot sit down. I’ll wait for the next one." So you let the bus go and waited for the second bus. Then the second bus came, you looked at it you say, "Eeeew, this bus is so old… so shabby!"

So you let the bus go and again, decided to wait for the next bus. After a while another bus came, it’s not crowded, not old but you said, "Eeeew, not air-conditioned… better wait for the next one". So again you let the bus go and decided to wait for the next bus. Then the sky started to get dark as it is getting late. You panicked and jumped immediately inside the next bus. It is not until much later that you found out that you had boarded the wrong bus!

So you wasted your time and money waiting for what you want! Even if an air-conditioned bus comes, you can’t ensure that the air-conditioned bus won’t break down or whether or not the airconditioner will be too cold for you. Wanting to get what you want is not wrong. But it wouldn’t hurt to give other person a chance, right? If you find that the "bus" doesn’t suit you just press the red button and get off the bus (as simple as that)! Hey who said life is fair? The best thing to do is be observant and open while you scrutinize the bus. If it doesn’t suit you, get off. But you must always have an extra something which you could use for the next bus that comes. But wait. I’m sure you have this experience before. You saw a bus coming (the bus you want, of course) you flagged it but the driver acted as if he did not see you and zoomed pass you! It just wasn’t meant for you!

The bottom line is, being loved is like waiting for a bus you want. Getting on the bus and appreciating the bus by giving it a want. Getting on the bus and appreciating the bus by giving it a chance depends totally on you. If you haven’t made any choice, WALK! Walking is like being out of love. The good side of it is, you can still choose any bus you want. The rest who couldn’t afford another ride would just have to be content with the bus they rode on, ugly or not.

One more thing. Sometimes its better to choose a bus you are already familiar with rather than gamble with a bus that is unfamiliar to you. But then again, life wouldn’t be complete without the risks involved.

one long week

finally...

...

it really felt so weird that this past week seemed very very long for me... after freakin' out of how fast time seems to fly, the past week suddenly played in slowmo (as in "slow motion"). quite unbelievable, yeah.. and i tried refusing the idea because i've been used to my "fast track" view of life. astonishingly, everything seemed to pile up. i had so much in mind.. so much to do.. so much worries, basically my AHT and mailbox tasks.. so much plans.. so much stress.. but of course i can only do so much...

...

sigh... this is just one of the most stressful weeks i've had besides those i've been to since i became a mailbox officer... oh what have i done? my life just became more complicated than it was when i was just an agent... living care free and just minding my own stats...

i'm just so thankful that the week is finally over.. and hopefully my aht calculator will not fail me... well, it hasn't since i started using it. if i calculated right and everything falls into place, i'm saved... i really really hope and pray... coz if not, after everything i've done... i'd really feel sad and disappointed... but being the optimistic and jolly me, i'm keeping my hopes high and crossing my fingers crossed for several times until now... Ü

time to relax and spend my off watching my korean and taiwanese dvds that have piled on the rack... i'm just so excited, finally it's weekend and i'm free!!!

TKA has finally started airing in ABS

the pilot episode of the tagalized version of they kiss again (it started with a kiss 2) has finally begun airing yesterday, july 29, 2008 at about 4:45 pm after the mexican novela "las tontas" in abs-cbn. amazingly, though i've watched the english subbed series a million times already, i still can't help but laugh when i saw the series dubbed in tagalog. finally, michael and jeannie are now speaking in filipino.. hihihi Ü

this series is really funny... just one of the few dramas (out of about 50 or 60 that i've watched) that kept me wanting for more... i just can't get enough of jiang zhishu (michael jiang, the lead guy portrayed by Joe Cheng) coz he's so super kawaii!!!! hihihi Ü

kidding aside, this is really one of my personal favorites. i really loved their story a lot. maybe because i'm usually enticed by romantic comedy dramas with super hard to get i-don't-care-about-you lead guys and super head over hills i-will-do-anything-for-you-martyr lead girls which in the end of course would be the opposite. on this one though it's not totally the opposite, but you'll see that jeannie's (xiang qin) efforts have been reciprocated... that made me so super KILIG! when this was still airing in taiwan, i had no way but to wait weekly for the uploaded episodes online thru overstream.net and i spent several minutes downloading the scenes. i constantly checked everyday for newly uploaded episodes and i had to saty up til noon though i have a shift later at night... i did all those but i never got tired... Ü

if you're looking for a drama where you'll burst out of laughing, ran out of tissues crying and learn a lot of lessons in life, then this is one drama i'd really recommend... it's really worth watching. you won't be disappointed... i wasn't... Ü

i just love arjoe so much! and needless to say, i've been addicted to joe cheng for almost 2years now! that's since ISWAK aired in the philippines... sorry, but i really can't help it... Ü

Love or Bread: Ariel Lin took over Barbie Xu (update)

though i was really shocked when i heard the news before that barbie xu and joe cheng will be doing a drama together... i've actually kind of set my mind and looked forward to how this collaboration would turn out... i was really interested in seeing sanchai and zhishu together... then this news came up all of a sudden. who would have thought that after all that's been said, the role will eventually be portrayed by ariel lin? i really didn't expect that they would still be changing the casts after the announcements have been made.

but this is yet another arjoe collaboration... for the third time.. yey! Ü

Da S Afraid of gaining weight, Ariel Lin took over the role of a poor girl in the village

Noble posture and a high price tag, Da S has finally “Ti Dao Tei Ban” ! ( meet obstacle). The GTV idol drama Love or Bread starring Da S and Joe Cheng replaced the female leading role that cast Da S by Ariel Lin. Da S cited the reason of schedule’s conflict with her movie’s project. Another speculation is that the character of the role she would play in the Love or Bread were way to “Villagers” that needed to only wear blue and white shoes and gain weight. Da S is not allowed herself to downgrade from the proclaimed princess to the character in the drama.

GTV drama will begin shooting in August. It has costumes set up and made the posters. Da S sudden dropout gave GTV headache. It was learned that the reasons for the dropout are the character of “Zhen Shan Mei”, a poor girl who only wears a pair of 20 bucks blue-white shoes and would knee down to count money on the ground. Upon hearing director Lin ask her to gain weight, Da S painfully consider to give up the role.

Ariel Lin is not afraid of being compared

Da S’s concern on the other hand is a challenge for Ariel Lin. GTV said that Ariel Lin was the first choice to be considered for the drama and later was replaced by Da S.

It seems that everything has retuned to how it was started. Afraid of being compared with Da S? the weekend that was...

this weekend was just so hectic... i guess it's because i'm so used to just spending my off at home during weekends doing dvd marathons and kdrama/tdrama net surfing... this past week was entirely different...

unlike the usual routine of just going home after my friday shift (logging out at 6:00 am), i had to wait til 7:30am for etel's free movie day screening of batman : "the dark night" in eastwood. though i'm not really a big fan of batman (since i like superman and spiderman better... Ü ), i stayed and watched since this is just for free. just as i expected, i didn't like the movie that much... except for the cars showcased, most especially that lambourgini that was just smashed by the truck and the van. after watching the movie, i realized that bruce wayne a.k.a. BATMAN is a very very wealthy man who's equally immodest and so conceited... he always had his way of showing off a luxurious lifestyle through the clothes he wore, cars he rode, the helicopter that landed on his own home, the undergroud laboratory he had with very high tech built-in machines in walls, floors and ceiling that pop up in just a push of a button, etc, etc. i was almost drooling over those gadgets i saw...

after the movie, there were 2 agendas left: to visit chiqui in the hospital and to go to metrowalk for my dvd shopping.. hihihi

we ate first to decide things over. after lunch we decided to visit chiqui first at the chinese general hospital in blumentritt for she has just given birth to a healthy girl named jaimee who's really very cute and charming. after visiting chiqui, metro walk was the last stop. we arrived there at about past 4 in the afternoon and i was really tired before we even began shopping for dvds, simply because we walked a thousand miles that day.. haha :P quite exaggerated but we really did walk a lot... a lot that made my feet hurt so much! after getting all the taiwanese and korean dramas i found.. we finally decided to go home. we're all feeling sticky, feet hurting, exhausted and harassed.. haha

the day was really tiring.. travelling was so inconvenient because of the very hot humid weather that later became rainy and wet.. then later became hot again... then later became stormy.. weather is really weird nowadays.. i think she's also confused whether to bring sunshine or rain so she just gives both in a day... terrible global warming! tsk tsk tsk...

then yesterday, july 20, we finally held our team (carletz) GA in dampa, libis. at long last... after several attempts of holding it, after several typhoons have passed... we've finally been able to do it. the initially planned outing/swimming was converted to a dinner-now-TOMA-later-session. and since this was in dampa, we splurged over tons of seafood dishes... shrimp, crabs, squid and fish. there was also barbecued liempo, fruits like watermelon and mango. then there was gin, tequilla and beer... i was really bloated.. drank 3 full shots of tequilla and 3 bottles of pineapple juice throughout the night. it was fun... but i think it would have been more fun if it was at a resort and there was a swimming pool... but, there was a karaoke, so somehow it was compensated.. i think a bit... i was able to go home at about 1am. then i woke up at 11:30am today... still feeling tired... this indeed, is the weekend that was most tiring... and i have a shift later... waaaahhhh! i still wanna sleeeeeeeppppp!!!

Wu Chun Craze

Farenheit members, Wu Chun and Calvin Chen, were just here in the philippines the past weekend... but the craze just seems to get wilder, bolder and more contagious... i had actually been infected too... wink* wink*

i, suprisingly, was caught by Wu Chun's charm... i was really impressed of how kind and acommodating he was while he was here in the philippines. i just did not expect that someone as famous as him (or should i say their band farenheit) would be so humble and courteous to everyone most especially to their fans (well, that's how artists should be, but that's not what all artists would do, right?).. other artists (most of them) are just focused on their performances, appearances, promotional activities, etc... when chun and calvin visited, they really interacted well with the filipino fans... i'm so overwhelmed, i'm so speechless... he really got me there.. Ü

since then i have been checking his blog whenever i have time (you'll see a link on my links tab). remember he mentioned in THE BUZZ that he really wanted to visit the philippines? he has that in his blog too so i guess it's true. he had been convincing their company to include philippines in their tour for several times (which implies he has been declined several times as well right?) and i guess he didn't stop convincing them coz finally, he reached the philippines... one more thing, i saw this in his blog entry entitled "3 years..." posted on june 20, 2008 where he included a list of their promo tour schedule (here's the link to that blog entry/article, you can directly check it here: http://www.wretch.cc/blog/wuchun10cool/9673122). as i was saying, here's what i saw:

well, seeing this made me more astonished... it felt so nice to know that he's somehow trying to learn our language... his effort was very much appreciated! well, who wouldn't? i heard him utter several tagalog words in The Buzz, but i never thought he'd also write tagalog words in his blog. i know this are just 4 simple words, but the effort and thought of doing that is priceless... that's way too sweeeeeeet! making me love him more and more and more and more and more... Ü

new TKA time slot

at looooooooooooong last!!! after waiting for almost two months... finally... ABS began re-airing the teasers for the much awaited sequel of It Started With A Kiss (ISWAK) : They Kiss Again (TKA). they initially released teasers in May of this year saying that TKA will be aired during saturdays and sundays at 10 am but this did not push thru... i was so excited when i heard that news but i felt equally disappointed when it was postponed.

now, projected air date of the pilot episode is on July 28. however, there's no specific time mentioned as of yet. but since the only drama/series that's about to end in two weeks time is Romantic Princess which airs 4.30 pm daily, this will probably take over this slot... which is better for me actually than airing it in primetime bida since i'm in the graveyard shift, i won't be able to watch it when i'm in the office. but my most preferred time slot is the initial schedule announced before, that is airing on weekends... that would have been much better because i'm always off on weekends... :P

but this is better than nothing... though i've seen the subbed version a million times, i still can't wait to see the tagalized version, because i'm super duper sure that it would be funnier! just two more weeks and i'm gonna see my Joe Cheng as ZhiShu... oh, i mean Michael Jiang...

just take your time, i'll always wait for you.. wink*wink*

Wu Chun fever reaches the Philippines

Wu Chun and Calvin Chen of Farenheit are currently in the Philippines to personally promote their drama Romantic Princess. They guested in several kapamilya (Channel 2) shows like Entertainment Live, ASAP 08, The Buzz and the PINOY Dream Academy.

And yes, undeniably, the WU CHUN Fever has reached the Philippines (and I had been infected too.. :P). This started when Hana Kimi (Taiwan) aired in ABS CBN which stars Wu Chun as the lead guy (Bryan in the tagalized series), pursued by Ella as the lead girl who disguises as a guy (Joey in the tagalized version).

Now, Romantic Princess is currently airing in the same time slot, 4.30pm - 5.00pm with Wu Chun again as the lead actor (Jin in the tagalized version) and Angela Zhang (Jana in the tagalized version) as the lead actress. This series will be running for two more weeks before it ends.

Though I'm not a very huge fan of these guys, or should I say their band Farenheit, I must admit that I was really impressed of what I've seen. Since they attended several shows in ABS, I was able to see a lot of them... and for all those times, they consistently showed kindness and cheerfulness towards their fans, interviewers, hosts and security staff. They always smiled and even took some pictures with their fans (whom some even flew from Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan to the Philippines just to see the guys). In addition, they both speak english so they didn't bring any interpreters and communication with them was a lot easier.

Farenheit is now considered as the most famous boyband in Taiwan next to F4. Well, I also remember the last time there was a lot of female fans screaming was when F4 visited the Philippines when meteor garden was aired by ABS as well. Chun and Calvin were also impressed of how warm they were welcomed here in the Philippines and they even mentioned that the fans here are a lot louder than those in other countries. They said they're definitely gonna come back for a concert... and that statement obviously drove the fans crazier. (I actually think they are better than F4 in terms of interaction with their fans. They are more accommodating and fun to be with unlike when F4 visited, they're kinda stiff and they seemed like they were just after their performance... not so interactive with the audience.) And it was really funny when Boy Abunda asked these two to say "the Buzz" for the commercial que... they really did good!

Wu Chun who has his own gym in Brunei (Fitness Zone) said almost 80% of his staff are filipinos so he had learned several filipino words way back like "masarap", "kamusta kayo", "mahal ko kayo", "mabuhay" and "salamat". He also said that he really loved eating chicken adobo (as usual, this has been the best seller for most foreigners who visit the Philippines) that they cooked for him there and he had been wanting to visit the Philippines for a long time so he's really happy that they had time now. I've also read from a blog that this 28-year old hunk singer actor had long requested their company to include the Philippines among the countries they'll visit but his first attempt was declined. I guess he never gave up trying that he succeeded in visiting the Philippines now.

(whatmore can I say? knowing this just made me love him more!!! Ü)

Farenheit Chun and Calvin arrived

Two of the members of the taiwanese boyband Farenheit, Wu Chun and Calvin Chen has arrived in the Philippines. Yes, they are the guys in the current taiwanese series aired by ABS CBN, Romantic Princess. Farenheit is believed to be the current most famous band in Taiwan next to F4.

I'm not really a huge fan of this guys but seeing them appear in the local TV station Ch 2 was kind of something to look forward to. I'm not that excited to see them, but I'd love to. I just wanna know how these two guys would look like now (meaning how they look like currently coz of course, the drama has been filmed a several months or maybe a year ago).

And honestly, when I saw them in the show Entertainment Live, i was star struck! The guys were really really cute, especially Wu Chun when he's smiling! Ü I dunno, I just didn't find him that good looking when i watched the series Hana Kimi and Romantic Princess, but seeing him in flesh was really very different... it's like an eye-opener.. haha I've known for a long time that he really has a nice body, but I didn't know that he looks really really cute too! and i'm starting to love him now... hehehe :P
