and my MIN HO addiction goes on...

it's been almost a week and my addiction just goes on and on and on...

yes... since the day i finished watching boys over flowers, i have been browsing the net for LEE MIN HO's pictures, videos, blogs, commercials, articles, etc... and i just can't help it! i can't stop myself from doing it... maybe i'm really under his spell... hahaha :D

LEE MIN HO, born on june 22, 1987, weighs 69 kg and stands at 186 cm ~ 6'1" (so tall huh?!? love it! wink*wink*), is definitely one of the most gorgeous faces i've seen out of the hundreds of actors i've seen in all the korean and taiwanese dramas i've watched. he has starred in several korean dramas like I am Sam, Mackerel Run, Secret Campus, Love Hymn, etc. but was famously known for playing the role of the korean F4 leader Gu Jun Pyo in the korean drama Boys Over Flowers. having such a big role catapulted him to fame and lead him to stardom, he even won the "best new actor" award in the recently held Baeksang Awards (February 2009).

this also lead him to several commercial endorsements including Dunkin Donuts, Market O, Pepsi Nex, Samsung Anycall, LG Telecom, Levi's Strauss, Trugen, Etude House and Cass Beer... his face is everywhere and i'm loving it! the cameras are definitely on him right now... i've actually seen some of these in youtube... and i bet there's more to come so just enjoy the limelight! :)

i wasn't actually that interested when i first saw him in Boys Over Flowers. i didn't like him much because of his curly hairstyle... but the moment i saw his straight hair in one of the episodes, i was so speechless... never thought he would be such a hottie without his curls. then he smiled and his dimples showed.. shoot! i'm dead.. because of his killer smile.. hehe right there and then, i was swept off of my feet... i was almost drooling... haha :D

since then, i can't help myself from surfing all night for pictures and videos of min ho... this guy is so freakin' gorgeous!!! yes, i'm just so addicted and i think i won't get tired of him anytime soon... i just can't... wink*wink*

BOYS OVER FLOWERS -- my latest addiction...

just finished watching boys over flowers... and i've just been under the spell of the gorgeous LEE MIN HO!!!! (^_^)v

luckily, i got a long break the past weekend so i had the chance to do a marathon of the most talked about korean drama today, Boys Over Flowers, the korean adaptation of the japanese manga Hanayori Dango. there has been previous adaptations shown years ago... the first one was from taiwan, Meteor Garden which starred the famous Jerry Yan as DaoMingSi and Barbie Xu as Sanchai... then came the japanese version, Hanayori Dango which starred Matsumoto Jun as Tsukasa Domyoji and Inoue Mao as Tsukushi Makino... and the most recent version, currently shown in ABS-CBN daily @ 6pm, Boys Over Flowers, starring Lee Min Ho as Gu Jun Pyo and Goo Hye Sun as Geum Jan Di...

having watched all three versions of it, i can say that i love the korean version the most! not only because of Lee Min Ho (though he's the main reason.. hahaha), but also because of the nice scenery and tourist spots shown in the drama. the part where they went to New Caledonia is my most favorite location. the story was pretty much the same since they based it from the same manga, but of course each one had its own revisions of several scenes and situations. below are some examples of the differences followed by the synopsis
i got from wikipedia:

(taiwanese-japanese-korean versions of F4)

Differences between the other versions:

  • In the Taiwanese version, Jan Di's character was an only child. In the Japanese and Korean version, she has a younger brother.
  • In the Taiwanese version, the heroine attends college. In the Japanese version, the characters are in high school in season 1, but F4 (minus Domyoji) attend Eitoku University in season 2. In the Korean version, the characters are also in high school, but the F4 move on to Shinhwa University from episode 13 onwards. Shinhwa High School and Shinhwa University are located within the same campus.
  • In Taiwanese and Japanese version, Jan Di’s character was already studying at the school for rich people. In Korean version, Jan Di was admitted after saving a boy for jumping off the roof of Shinhwa High School on a swimming scholarship.
  • In both Taiwanese and Japanese version, the relationship between the two characters: Sojiroh and Yuki ( also known as Yi Jung and Ga Eul in the Korean version) is only hinted. But in the Korean version, the relationship between these two is gradually developed throughout the series, having their own significant plotline instead of acting as a subplot.
  • Akira, the fourth member of the group, seems to be the youngest in Japanese version. In Korean version, Song Woo Bin seems to be the oldest of the four.
  • Ji Hoo has a more significant role in Jan Di's life than the Taiwanese and Japanese version, more strongly depicted as a romantic companion for most of the drama.
  • Woobin's family does not appear in this version, nor does he only have interest in older women.
SYNOPSIS
A second year high school, Geum Jan-di, becomes admitted to a rich, prestigious school known as Shinhwa. The school is filled with rich people who can afford to go there. She becomes admitted after saving a student from committing suicide. At the school, she meets people with various personalities. There are the mean girls, fake friends, and last but not least: The F4. The F4 consists of 4 people: Gu Jun Pyo, Yoon Ji Hoo, So Yi Jung, and Song Woo Bin. Gu Jun Pyo is the leader of the F4 and is also the heir of the Shinhwa group. At first, he insults and makes Geum Jan-di's life miserable after she humiliates him. The only person who seemed to have sympathy for her was Ji Hoo, who saved her numerous times. However, as the drama progressed, Gu Jun Pyo developed feelings for Geum Jan-di. It turned out to be a twisted love triangle between Geum Jan Di, Gu Jun Pyo and Yoon Ji Hoo.
o-0o0-o

there's one thing though that i didn't like much in this version.. the actress who portrayed Geum Jan Di -- Goo Hye Sun. she looks so ordinary (no offense GHS fans) unlike barbie xu and inoue mao who are both cute and pretty. but she acted great, infairness. she actually reminds me of Kim Jeung Eun, the lead actress in the drama Lovers in Paris. the lead guy who played Gu Jun Pyo -- Lee Min Ho, i actually didn't like him also at first... i was kind of annoyed of his perms and curly hair... but after seeing the episode where he had his hair straightened, i was blown away! he got me there! i realized that he's actually so freakin' gorgeous! and since then i haven't been able to take my eyes off of him... hehehe :D

overall, the drama was really great!!! although you can predict the next scene because of the older versions that were already shown, there's still something in it that makes you want to watch the next episode.. well, for me there was... i was always curious of the next episode everytime i was able to finish one.

once again, i was floating in a world of fantasy... a world where an ordinary girl meets a handsome rich guy who falls head over hills in love with her (and only with her...) -- the cinderella type story. that's quite far from reality, we all know that... but who wouldn't wanna be a part of that world? if only i could find such a guy... if only.. but i know i won't...

the long wait was finally over...

the long wait was finally over... yesterday, the decision was finally announced...

i was transferred to m&m 6 months ago because my previous program, rolex, had to let go of higher level agents. i was sad of course, as that was the first time i'll transfer to another program after 3 long years. i had no choice but to transfer and move on... thinking that it actually wasn't that bad at all, since m&m is one of the pioneer and most stable programs in etel. i also looked forward to being one of their licensed agents and being able to level up to maybe csa 4 or even up to csa 5 (coz rolex has up to csa 3 only).

but due to the global economic crisis, which had the greatest impact in the US, m&m got engaged in an "ALL or NOTHING" battle with
sykes. etel, of course, looked forward to winning all the business as they have been partners with ameriprise for eight long years already. the battle has already started when we were transferred last november and we were told the result will be announced in february 2009... until it was moved to march... then april.. then finally came may...

per our site director, the decision was announced last may 13, wednesday, but no one knew (i guess) besides the company vp, site director and the client manager. then the leaders met the following day, i think they were already informed of the decision, though they insisted they weren't that time (coz even though they showed poker faces, you'll see that their eyes say something different...) and said the final announcement will be made the next day, friday, by benedict hernandez (company VP for philippine operations). so how heavy is that? for a company vp to announce such decision, it's just either a very bad or a very good news...

then came friday... we were all waiting for the shift to end... announcement will be made @ 7am MLA, saturday. hours seemed so long this day... everyone was dying of anticipation...

(M&Mpire)

at last 7 o'clock came. we all went to the training room for the announcement. surprisingly, benedict is not there.. uh oh.. this is a bad sign.. i actually had high hopes that it was gonna be a good news because benedict is announcing it himself.. it was just fides (site director) and monica (client manager) inside the training room.. fides made the announcement and she was very straightforward.. "ameriprise chose 2 vendors... ACS will do the voice/phones and SYKES will do the back office..." everyone was silent.. i was actually hoping that someone, maybe one of our leaders will shout "JOKE!" and that they were just testing how we'd react... but there was none... there was just silence. so we were really the "NOTHING" in the "ALL or NOTHING" battle. then fides proceeded... she said the decision was purely because of the economic crisis. ameriprise had to change their business strategy and their budget cannot afford etel's price. she said they tried their best to bargain, there was even a proposal where etel had no more gain/profit but ameriprise couldn't afford it still. huwaaaaaaat?!?!?!?! now i can't even imagine how low the offer was from sykes.

oh well... that's life... m&m will be operating until august 13, 2009 only, 90 days from when the decision was given.. M&Mpire has finally come to an end.. sadly.. it's time to say goodbye...

now i have to think thoroughly of what i should be doing... i never really expected that my stay in m&m will end this soon... but it did. so for now, all i have to do is THINK... THINK... THINK...

hoping for a stress free saturday

off at last!!! after a long nerve-wracking week that i've just surpassed, now's the time to relax and unwind... i'm not planning to go somewhere else... i just want to rest my troubled mind and get a lot of sleep!!! zzz... zzzzz... zzzzz... zzz.... zzzzz... or maybe i'll cut some sleep and watch korean dramas instead... coz in that way i can divert my attention until i finally forget what happened...

while checking some dramas at mysoju.com, i came across this cute video in youtube entitled "froggy dance", a korean song. i actually have this in my phone for i think 2 years already. got it from my cousin who came back from japan. i found it so cute when i first saw it and eventually, i got so fond of it, there was even a time i watched it repeatedly for several times that day!

well, this can serve as my stress reliever for now... :)

bad day

" i had a bad day, i'm taking one down, i sing a sad song just to turn it around.. i say i don't know, you tell me don't lie, i work on a smile then i go for a ride, i had a bad day, the camera don't lie, i'm coming back down and i really don't mind.. i had a bad day.. i had a bad day..."

- rephrased version of daniel powter's "bad day" (from the point of view of the person who had the bad day)

went home late today.. the sky was gray and gloomy.. same as my day.. i think the sky's crying with me.. sad that i had this terrible day..

sigh.. the atmosphere in the office earlier was so noxious.. my optimism went down after trying several times to keep it high by not dwelling too much on the topic.. but hearing discussions and reading from several emails over and over exhausted me a lot and made me so anxious.. i didn't think that one single mistake would be such a big deal... i tried my best to keep the bubbly positive me but i failed... faking my smiles didn't work either... my mood eventually turned upside down...

and i hate this because this makes me so vulnerable to negative thoughts... slowly making me cynical about certain things in life which further worsen my mood... the exact opposite of the sanguine me...

because of what happened earlier, i realized something that is so true about human nature.. that some, if not most, humans tend to be USER FRIENDLY.. this is a positive term when used to describe things like electronic gadgets. but when used to describe human beings, it is the exact opposite.. coz it only means that you're just nice to people if you benefit from them.. in other words, you only be-friend them because of the things they can give you..

but this doesn't only exist between friendships, this also happens at work, unfortunately.. bosses are usually fond of employees who perform and work hard, of course, because they contribute a lot to the business' growth and in return, they also benefit because they earn a lot (financially) from the business. but once you failed something or if you've made a mistake, though it's just one out of the hundred other good things you've done, they start ignoring you.. it's as if you've done the gravest dumbest thing in the world.. and sadly, this single fault can break you... with all your good inputs crumbling down into small pieces, like they have never existed at all.. leaving you helpless and lacking self confidence...

sad but true..
these USER FRIENDLY beings exist in this world..
i've met one in the office..
